Back to Books 2016

We love books at Talking Tots!

Reading stories with your children is a great way to bond, but did you know it's also one of the best ways of boosting your little one's communication skills?

Through books, children learn to love language and reading helps them to communicate confidently using spoken and written language. These skills are vital to all children: skilful communicators find it easier to make friends, to learn about the world around them, and to express their thoughts and feelings.

Research shows that children who regularly read stories tend to perform better at school, have wider vocabularies and better imaginations. Yet almost a quarter of parents admit they struggle with the bedtime story routine.

“Parents often don’t realise how important stories are. Sharing stories with children stimulates their memory, vocabulary, social and emotional skills, giving them a real head start in the classroom,” said Lisa Houghton, co-founder of Talking Tots. “A great story is like a rocket engine for your child’s imagination – you’ll be amazed at the conversations you can have about their favourite characters.”

We have a fantastic  Back to Books competition, where the winner gets a Rose Petal Cottage and accessories, worth IRO £150.00! Click here for full details. Good luck!
